Steve Prentice Group vice president and Chief of Research Gartner Research Gartners Chiefs of Research are associated with specific technology sectors but are encouraged to take a leadership role in the development of high-level strategic issues across all research areas, building a highly integrative view of future trends and industry developments, especially where these cross traditional boundaries (hardware, software, services, telecommunications, IT management etc.). Mr. Prentice takes a particular interest in the longer term (5-10 year) scenario for the development of IT, its evolving role in supporting and enabling new business models; and the impact of new technology, business, societal, environmental and consumer trends in this respect. Mr. Prentice joined Gartner in March 1997 from GPT Limited, where he was Director of Marketing with their Payphones group. Prior to GPT he held a variety of marketing oriented roles with both software and hardware vendors, including seven years with Logica Limited, undertaking a wide range of client-based consultancy and market research in the IT and telecommunications sectors. Mr. Prentice holds a B.Sc. Hons. degree in marine biology from the University of Liverpool, a postgraduate diploma in technological economics from the University of Stirling and a postgraduate certificate in business management from Coventry University |
