Beth Coleman is Assistant Professor in the Program in Writing and Humanistic Studies and Comparative Media Studies at MIT. Her research interests include virtual world design and use, 3D Internet, new media emergence and practice in China, India and Africa, and contemporary art and technology. She is a member of the MIT Convergence Culture Consortium on industry and media. She is currently working on the book The Virtual World Primer (www.virtualworldprimer.com).
